Training Program and Model Policy
- Tucson Medical Center and the Arizona Center for Disability Law will provide the training annually to Human Resources and Employee Health staff to ensure a full understanding of how to comply with the ADA’s provisions regarding medical examinations of new hires and employees.
Features of TMC’s new policy include:
consideration of actual relevant work experience by the evaluator;
review of opinions from treating health care professionals provided to the evaluator;
ways for the evaluator to become familiar with the job duties of the person being evaluated;
the selection of tests and evaluation procedures which are related to the job in question; and
a system for ensuring that all of these steps have been taken by the evaluator.
